Snow in April? It sure is right here in the UK! As crazy as it seems, I’m pleased I have an ‘office’ day where I can peek at the snow out of the window – I’ve already read happy, annoyed and mentions of global warming tweets and statuses but… nothing brightened up my morning more than seeing this on Sommer of Love. Flowers, flowers and Mulberry – I love It really is a ‘Surround Yourself With Beauty’ shot – I too would quite like to be surrounded with a huge amount of flowers than the possibility of being surrounded by snow in April!

Wow! March has been a truly delightful month so far… the sun has begun to shine in England {which always makes us all smile so much!} The wedding season is in full swing with enquiries from places around the UK for 2012 and beyond … and I had the opportunity to showcase my Oriental Cherry Blossom Design Table at The Wedding Sanctuary : Somerset House : London. The Wedding Sanctuary saw a lovely number of brides, grooms and wedding professionals come through the door at Somerset House in the capital. Many brides were wowed by the wonderful designs in the Inspiration Zone and we received many lovely comments about the show. Today, I share with you the photographs of my table design ‘Oriental Cherry Blossom’. I received some fabulous comments from everyone who was there and I hope you think the same too!

Bloom Swoon : Oriental Inspired Centrepieces

For many of you who are in full swing planning your wedding, you may have been trying to find some contemporary + beautiful centrepiece inspirations. My style is very much influenced by travel + culture, so I wanted to share some pretty floral ideas that are inspired by my family roots - the Far East. Red is definitely the colour used in Chinese weddings but they no longer have to be ‘too traditional’ nor a little ‘over the top’ in design. Some simple + pretty ideas can sometimes create the impact you want without fearing you’ll need another bank loan! A little imagination + inspiration may be all you need to bring your Oriental wedding theme to life. Here are some gorgeous centrepieces I’m smitten with … and I think you just have to see {and no, they are not all just red!}

If you’re a lover of colour, ask your florist to mix the flowers a little. Then add a simple stand up table menu with the chinese double happpiness symbol to tie in with your theme - Perfect

Bride + Bouquet

Choosing your wedding bouquet may seem an easy decision - If you’re anything like my sweet sister-in-law, you just fall in love as soon as you see ‘the one’ or you could be totally opposite and keep finding yourself going back and forth over several gorgeous designs. There are so many beautiful types of flowers you could choose from… then there is the style, the colour… are the flowers available at the time you’re getting married? How will the flowers look against your stunning dress? Do they co-ordinate with your bridesmaid dresses and how about the buttonholes? These are just some of the questions you may need to ask yourself when selecting your very own gorgeous bouquet. Do ask your florist for their help and advice. You could also help your florist by giving them your thoughts, ideas and cut-outs of pictures that inspire you.
