Lately

Hey! I’ve finally found a little time to update Smitten… and my I’ve missed you guys.

It’s been somewhat a crazy time over the last few weeks but a most amazing one ever. Yes. Ever.

Earlier in July I had such a great time working for the sweetest couple – Tabitha + Chris. You may remember them as my Rock My Wedding bride + groom as Tabitha’s been sharing her planning journey with the oh-so wonderful RMW readers and yes, I had the pleasure in managing their utterly fabulous wedding. Yes, sweet favours, lovely illustrations and PINWHEELS. I. So. Love. Pinwheels! Without giving too much away as it’s Tabitha’s job to be sharing her big day soon on RMW… but here’s some sweet peeks just for you. So much pretty right?!

This month I even got the chance to have a quick catch up with Louise Ingman – she was Tabitha’s wonderful hairstylist on her big day and she’s a good friend of mine who I met through my lovely sister-in-law before I started Carmen Weddings {yep, Louise is the one with teal coloured hair + I’m forever jealous how she can pull off such amazing colours!}… and I also caught up with Chantal + Scott! We worked together last year at Fiona + Raymond’s wedding in Loch Lomond and as they spent the weekend shooting a wedding here in England, they called by for a bite to eat while they were heading back to bonnie Scotland. So good to catch up with them!

… and my sweet baby pooch. She’s always been a bit of a lazy girl but last week I was heartbroken when she was a little sick; the first time in her life she’s been unwell. So after a couple of days not being herself, we headed off to Pride – a quick check over, a prescription and cans of very bland chicken and rice for her next few days of dinner… I could begin to feel at ease when she stopped being sick each morning. I was beginning to wonder what her morning sickness was all about. We think she just picked up a little bug. Thankfully nothing too serious and she’s being her fun, comical self again!

I always try super hard to balance work and life… and this month I’ve managed to get a few lunch and dinner dates with girlfriends, plus some great evenings out. I caught up with a girlfriend for lunch at Jack Rabbits {actually I somehow managed to go to Jack Rabbits two days in a row that week!} – my sweet friend has a baby due anytime now and I cannot wait to meet little one. I’ve also been up and down the country quite a lot recently… lets just say thank goodness for my Krispy Kreme breaks but those doughnut decisions are never easy : )

Happy Anniversary to this guy who I married four years ago! Oh yes… time certainly flies when you’re having fun. Paul forever makes me smile inside and out, he is very supportive in absolutely everything I do, we share a huge amount of crazy fun together, he keeps my feet firmly on the ground and he never fails to kiss me morning and night. Life hasn’t always been easy but I dare say we have been there for each other through tough times and amazing times. Yes, he means everything to me and I missed him so much on our anniversary as I was working away for the weekend {more on Rachel + Simon’s epic day coming soon!} … but back home, I was up in a few hours, bags packed and he took me away to Titanic Spa for a lovely overnight stay. Treatments already booked cause he just knew I’d be aching like crazy! Love him so much and here’s to many more xoxo

And the most exciting news this week has got to be this… welcome to the world

Prince George Alexander Louis

So much excitement was filled around the globe to catch the first glimpse of this very special little one.

The Duchess so beautiful and radiant – the Duke so handsome and proud. A moment I shall not forget.

So, now it’s not long until we’re into August and I’m beginning to finalise meetings and weddings… plus pop in some family and friends time… and I have a wedding to attend as guest! Yay! I’m already on the lookout for the highest heels because when working, I have to wear my very comfy flats – this 5ft me doesn’t really like flats but I have to go for comfort when I’m on my feet for no less than 12 hours.

What do you have planned for next month? Do share and maybe give me some inspiration on what to fill my diary with before the summer months are gone!

And… I really hope the weather stays as beautiful throughout the next few months for more gorgeous big W days!

Mucho love to you gorgeous friends! xoxo
